FESTIVE FRINGE: DRESSY VS CASUAL

I love fringe! Aside from the fact that fringe adds a beautiful texture and dimension to outfits, I absolutely love how twirl-worthy, playful and fun it is! Another reason I'm so fond of it, is because it's so versatile! I know, I know I talk about versatility a lot, but being able to wear my favorites in a variety of ways is really important to me and fringe happens to be one of those well-loved staples that can be dressed up or down depending on occasion!
Take today's looks for example! I've had my eye on these beautiful fringe pieces for some time now! Aside from the fact that I’m really partial to this particular shade of cream, I fell in love with the effortless movement they create with every single step you take! Rather than wearing them together, I decided to break these matching separates apart to create two very distinct looks!

The first look has a decidedly dressy appeal perfect for any Holiday party. Since this fringe skirt is such a statement piece, I opted to style it with an understated cotton lace blouse, pale pink bag and nude heels. I also opted for a somewhat monochromatic palette to play up the textures of this outfit, making the skirt the focal point of the look. Plus, playing around with different textures, like fringe and lace in this case, is so much fun!

The second outfit has a much more casual appeal. I wanted to create a really fun, effortless look so I paired my fringe top with ripped denim, a suede Moto jacket, and a pair of cute fringe heels to once again play up the textures! You guys know how much I love combining chic and casual pieces and this look was no exception. There’s just something so versatile about this pairing, because denim helps to downplay the dressiness of the top, making it totally day-time appropriate!
What about you guys, do you love fringe as much as I do?

IF THE SHOE FITS

If you read my blog on regular basis, you know what a total shoeaholic I am! Now imagine my excitement when Nine West reached out and offered an opportunity to style one of my favorite shoe-styles ever, i.e. a classic black pump! Why do I love this particular style so much? Well, there are many reasons to love black pumps, but what makes this style truly special for me, is the fact that they work for any occasion and work equally well for day or night!

Though Nine West certainly has quite a few different black pumps to choose from, I went with the pointy-toe Jackpot pumps in black suede. Aside from being particularly partial to black suede pumps in general, what I like about this pair is the hight of the heel! Perfect for casual pairings, the heel is not too high for the office yet sexy enough to wear with after-hours ensembles. In short, the perfect shoe for day and night and everything in between!

Off-Duty Casual Vibes:
Jeans and blazers are my thing! If I had to chose a single outfit I am most comfortable in, this would be it! A great combination of casual and polished, jeans paired with jackets have an easy, nonchalant vibe without looking too simple! Though one could certainly opt for flats with this look, I am a high-heels girl through and through, so adding a pair of black suede pumps, for me, completes this look like no other shoe can:) Aside from the fact that skinny blue jeans and black suede pumps were made for each other, the reason why the Jackpot pumps work so well for this look is because they add texture and complement the color palette without being too matchy matchy. Love that!

Work-Mode:
This outfit is basically a dressier version of my beloved jeans and blazers combo, courtesy of skinny leather pants and velvet blazer. To create this almost all-black look, I played with deferent textures such as leather, suede and velvet and added a few pups of color with a striped white button-down shirt and a bright red tote! I suppose you can say that I am a bit of a traditionalist because I still love to wear blazers to work, but I think leather pants and a smoking jacket instead of a classic version of a blazer, help to give this look a bit of a modern vibe. Once again, I completed this look with my Jackpot suede pumps for a comfortable lift, polish and sophistication.

Night on the Town:
I love mini skirts! Sexy and girly, mini skirts are one of my favorite pieces to wear for a night on the town! Yet because I am not a fan of overly provocative ensembles, I like to balance the length of the skirt with tailored pieces on top. For this particular look, I opted for a velvet blazer and a simple turtleneck. Once again, to complete this look I went with my Jackpot suede pumps! Love the way the pointy toe elongates the silhouette while the medium heel height balances out the super short skirt and adds a dose of sophistication and polish to this otherwise very sexy look!

FEELING FESTIVE

Though I love Holiday season in general, dressing up is definitely one of my favorite parts! Yet, with so many different events, parties, get-togethers and mixers to attend, choosing what to wear, can get a bit frustrating! So, I though it would be fun do a post covering a few different functions like a casual work party or a family get-together for example, girls night out and finally, a dressier, date-night type occasion.

CASUAL PARTY:
For me, Holiday dressing doesn't automatically imply getting super dressed up! Take festive outerwear for example, a beautiful plaid jacket in a signature Holiday black and red color combo captures the spirit of the season without looking too formal! Perfect for any casual function, not only does it look great but it will also keep you warm and cozy for the rest of the season:) For today's look, I paired my red checked moto jacket with all black pieces and accessories to really make it the focal point of this look! Fun little finishing touch, an oversized plaid blanket scarf to make that red really pop!

GIRLS NIGHT OUT:
A little fun, a little edgy and sexy, a feathered skirt and a tailored blazer are a match made in fashion heaven and a great alternative to a little black dress! Aside from my general love of separates, what makes this particular feather mini & fitter blazer so great is their versatility. You can pair this mini with tailored pieces like I've done for today's look or wear it with a slouchy turtleneck sweater and boots for a slightly more casual vibe. And the same can be said about the blazer! Dress it up with tailored bottoms or down with a pair of jeans and cute loafers. Basically, the possibilities are endless! For today's outfit, I was going for a really dressy, polished look, so I added strappy heels, a fun gold clutch and some beautiful layered jewels in gold.

DATE NIGHT:
Dresses are my achilles heel, and fun, sequin number are my ultimate weakness, especially for the Holidays!:) Love the way sequins catches the light, sparkles and shines in a beautiful rainbow of colors! Once again, a great alternative to a little black dress, sequin dresses add that perfect dose of glitz and glamour and create a really strong impact. Because they are such a statement piece, I prefer to pair them with really simple accessories so that they don't take away from the dress. A cute pair of heels and a simple clutch is really all you need to shine! Finishing touch? A few layered rings, red lips and tousled waves! And voila! A perfect date-night look!

SUNSET ON SANTA MONICA

I love fall in LA! While the temperatures definitely drop, it's warm enough to get away with bare legs yet just cool enough to start wearing sweaters! Knowing full well that this weather may not last long, I'm taking full advantage by wearing all my favorite minis and chunky sweaters! Today's look is comprised entirely of my old and new favorites! Completely obsessed with cream turtlenecks in general, what I love the most about this Joie one is the relaxed fit! Perfect for pairing with mini skirts to make them a bit more day-time appropriate yet equally cute worn with skinny jeans and say on oversized coat! Love that! What about you guys, what are you mostly excited to wear for fall?

LACE UP IN DTLA

Guess I've developed a new color crush... Something about this olive green, especially combined with cream and black, has me completely hooked at the moment! I would even go as far as to say that this is my new favorite fall color combo! And sure, it's still warm in LA ( and by warm I mean hot... really, really hot! ), so breaking out any warmer pieces is out of the question! But I try to introduce some fall elements into my wardrobe, and color seems to be the only option at the moment:)!

I HEART RADIO WITH GARNIER

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed that recently I had a chance to hang out with Garnier in Las Vegas, attend an I Heart Radio music festival and get my hair done by Tommy Bucket, aka an amazing Garner hair stylist and my new best friend!

We arrived to Vegas on Friday or rather exactly the day after I came back from New York, which made packing very simple!:) I pack fast, the only thing that takes time is packing my beauty products. I don't know why, but for some reason I am terrified of being away from my army of little helpers. Seriously, I religiously take things with me that I normally use once a year ( if that ) yet I cannot bare to be away from them when I travel! And so, like a crazy person I check and re-check to make sure I have everything with me. And for some reason the re-checking portion takes time ...  :)

Though we haven't been to Vegas for about a year now, we arrived to find things haven't changed much! Lively, sparkly and just plain fun! Vegas has a certain infectious energy you cannot help but pick up on! First stop on our Vegas agenda? Meeting with Tommy Buckett and the Garner team for my hair styling session. As we were discussing the hair style we wanted to create, we decided to draw a bit of inspiration from the Self Portrait jumpsuit I was sporting that day and go for something polished, sophisticated yet slightly undone for a really modern look. In case you'd like to re-create this look, here is a step-by-step instruction on how to achieve it:

1. Spritz Sleek Primer on damp hair & blow dry
2. Create soft, undone waves with a curling iron or a flat iron
3. Spray mid-shaft to ends with Deconstructed Texture tease
4. Pin hair back above the ear on one side with your favorite sparkly clip
5. Finish the look with a coat of Anti-Himidity Hairspray to secure the style

And voila! All done, pretty simple, huh?

After my styling session we headed to Sage, or as I like to call it my new favorite restaurant at Aria. Though every single dish we ordered was absolutely delicious, if you happen to find yourself there, the cheesecake is definitely worth trying! One word! AMAZING! :)

We got up bright and early next day and headed straight to I Heart Radio festival! Now, I don't know about you guys, but I am borderline obsessed with Hozier! I play "Take Me To Church" on repeat and   still can't quite get enough of this song! So, suffice to say seeing him perform live was a treat beyond anything I could have imagined!!! So good, I still get goosebumps when I think about it!:)

P.S. If you guys have any questions about my hair style or products used, shoot me an email, I'll be happy to answer!
