70s FLAIR

Funny, as much as I talk about how much I love wearing something new, if I had to be really honest, I'd say that in many ways, wearing my tried and true favorites is what I love the most. In fact, most of the prized pieces I have in my closet, the ones I really enjoy putting on every time without exception have been with me for years. Like old friends you can always rely on, I can count on them to make an outfit and make me feel great while I wear them every time.

Well, today's outfit just happens to feature some of these pieces. I picked up this suede trench coat just before Paris Fashion Week, and haven't stopped wearing it since. Aside from the fact that I love trench coats in general, this particular one is basically a perfect combination of all the elements one could look for in a trench coat. Not afraid of using the word "perfect" too much when referring to this particular piece, everything about it is just, well... perfect from material and color to length and fit. I've worn it a million times, in a million ways, and I've yet to find something it doesn't work with, and of course you know how important versatility is to me.

The same logic applies to this Chloe bag. I honestly marvel at it's ability to make and complete outfits! Like magic, it has the most astonishing power to transform the most simplest of looks into polished outfits and add a perfect ( there I go using the word "perfect" again, but I struggle to describe it in any other way ) touch of drama! Basically there isn't a slouchy jean, plain t-shirt combo in the world this bag couldn't elevate to a guaranteed fabulousness of the highest degree:) And of course being a big fan of both, slouchy jeans and simple t-shirts, I truly appreciate this little super power!

What about you guys? Which do you prefer, new or tried and tested favorites?

TRENCHING IT IN SF

Though there are about a million reasons why I love San Francisco, as of our last trip there, SF weather goes right at the top of that list! After hot and humid LA summer, it felt so nice to spend a few days in what I would call, normal, human temperatures:) Incidentally, being able to wear some of my new fall favorites didn't hurt either:)

Now that we're back in blazing hot LA getting ready for Fashion Week craziness, I can't help but plan another trip there... The sooner, the better!:)

TAUPE TRENCH

ALL SAINTS Hace trench coat

I've been practically living in this trench coat lately trying to stay warm in LA's cooler temperatures. Honestly, I don't know what it is lately, but the weather just can't seem to make up it's mind. Hot and sunny one day, doom and gloom the next. Normally, I would just reach for a sweater or a leather jacket when it gets like this, but lately, I've become a huge fan of a trench coat, for it's definitely a cozier, and in many ways warmer option.

Love this particular one I found at All Saints because of the slightly slouchier, softer silhouette. You know how much I love versatility, and this one works with just about anything from dresses, to jeans and denim cutoffs. I've even warn it for cocktails the other day pairing it with a fitted pencil skirt and a pair of heels and loved the way it looked! And when you find something that works day and night and looks good with essentially everything in your closet, you know it's a keeper:)

PALM SPRINGS IN PINK

Though normally I associate Palm Springs with blazing heat, palm trees and unreasonably long dips in the pool, turns out Palm Springs has a lot to offer even if the temperatures are nowhere near what I would normally consider hot or warm for that matter:)

As I have mentioned before, most of the time our trips to Palm Springs are the most glorious examples of procrastination, where Emil and I certainly make plans to venture outside of our hotel to explore, yet somehow always end up lingering by the pool, working on our tans and sipping drinks with little umbrellas in them. Both of us, I think at some point accepted the fact that these trips are not exactly productive or active, and allowed ourselves this time to be a bit lazy. Yet, I've always wanted to see more of Palm Springs.

Well, I certainly got my wish this time:)! Though, I have to admit that initially the cooler weather put a bit of damper on my mood, I soon discovered its full benefits. We were finally able to walk around Palm Springs, something we would never dare to do in the warmer months. Have breakfast, lunch and dinner outside without worrying about melting and take pictures of our adventures throughout the day while my hair and make up remained more or less in tact, which is, trust me, a big deal because normally my make up starts running down my face within 15 minutes and hair... well let's just say no amount of product can combat that frizzy mess.
